How do I compete?? And other questions... How do I compete?Contestants are chosen several ways. By us (the organizers/sponsors) knowing you or about you if you possess that fine degree of notoriety we like to bring to the show or through suggestions from the people of Milwaukee that also may know you or of you for various reasons. However, if you are a working bartender that has some "skills" and would really like to showcase your talents at a fun and exciting event, just contact any one of the event sponsors listed in the "Contact Us" section of this site and express your desire to compete. We will need a total of 45 bartenders to be contestants for our Milwaukee 2001 event so there's some room! How do I become a host venue? The War of the Pour events are sponsored by BACARDI U.S.A., INC., LUCKY STRIKE, and the SHEPHERD EXPRESS. We just ask that all host venues are regular supporters of our products and services. We do make some exceptions, so there is a bit of flexibility in our selection process. For the Milwaukee 2001 War of the Pour we will need a total of six (6) host venues as we will have five (5) qualifying rounds and a FINAL ROUND. We have a target list of host accounts in mind for the 2001 event, however, we still may have some open dates. To host the event, there are also some logistical issues to consider. The War of the Pour events in the Milwaukee 2000 event were held on Tuesday nights. The events themselves proved to be quite successful, at times drawing several hundred screaming fans and supporters to the host venues on a Tuesday night. What this means is we need a place that can house this kind of crowd comfortably. We also need a place that can fit two or three additional bartenders behind the bar for each round of the competition. Additionally, we need a place willing to staff accordingly for the event. As a host venue, you should expect a pretty large crowd so additional staff (bouncers, bar backs, etc..) than would traditionally be needed for a Tuesday night is recommended. How do I become a judge? To be a War of the Pour judge for the Milwaukee 2001 event, you must be selected by us. If you're interested, please contact any War of the Pour sponsor for consideration. We'll be using three (3) judges per event and four (4) judges for the FINALS so we do need a few. We'd like at least one bar manager or bar owner as a judge each round so if you're interested, please let us know. Who won last time? Our winners of the War of the Pour, Milwaukee 2000 event were as follows: FIRST PLACE - Kieren "K-Dog" from Kelly's Bleacher SECOND PLACE - Sonya from Thai Joe's THIRD PLACE - Archie from BBC FOURTH PLACE - Andy from O'Brien's Honorable mentions should also be given to the following that all made it to the finals: Nick from Taylor's Wilbur fromWilbur's Yuri from Luke's Brian from Groovy Additionally, we would like to give special thanks to all the loyal patrons, fans, and crowd support that all helped to make the War of the Pour, Milwaukee 2000 event the success that it was. You were an awesome crowd! Who are the event organizers/sponsors/contacts?Sponsors: Click here for War of the Pour event organizers/sponsors... Contact Sponsors: Click here for contact information...
