Coffman - New York City in 2005

Going into Gotham:

In 2005 we seemed to get into NYC an "unusually" large number of times.  This included getting in to see two Yankee games (at
Yankee Stadium in the Bronx), "visiting" Columbia University (Kari was in a summer program on International Relations and spent 5 days
at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and then 5 days at Columbia University in NYC),  and seeing several Broadway plays
(including "Mama Mia", "Moving Out", "Wicked", "Phantom of the Opera", and "The Producers").  During several of those trips
we were able to spend time in Central Park (and even saw where Lennon was shot outside the Dakota), ate in and walked
around the Village, took a tour of the Empire State Building,  spent several hours in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and did a  lot of just walking around
the City.

Below is a shot of the library at Columbia University (taken the day we picked Kari up), and another shot of Kari in Central Park later
that day.

Becky and Tom had a nice home-coming welcome set up for Kari when she finally got back from Columbia U.

One of Kari's favorite Broadway shows is "Moving Out" - the musical based on Billy Joel songs.  We've included a shot of  Kari
with the show's star Michael Cavanaugh taken immediately after she saw the performance.

The below picture shows the view from the observation deck on the Empire State building as we were looking north.  If you
squint very hard you can almost see Yankee Stadium.  We've also included a shot of one of Kerry's favorite paintings.  He's liked
it since his Elementary school days of pursuing the World Book Encyclopedia, and it was hanging in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, so he couldn't
resist.  Also, there is a shot of a sign in Manhattan advertising "Wicked", and it is indeed very "wonderful" (one of the best Broadway
plays we've ever seen).
