A "skullworks" is a place where people's
work requires them to use their brains instead of their brawn. It
is a place where work is knowledge-based and people are
knowledge workers. Knowledge work entails both applying and creating
knowledge. Tangible work products include research reports,
articles, whitepapers, the dreaded
consultant's report, the equally dreaded PowerPoint presentation, theoretical expositions, not-so-theoretical
recommendations for action and common workplace artifacts such as memos
and
e-mails. Even the logo above (created for me by my
son, a graphic artist) is a tangible product of knowledge work. My consulting practice - Distance Consulting
- is a skullworks and this section of my web site contains many of its
products, mainly articles that I have written and published over the
years. It also includes a few papers by others. So, welcome to
my
skullworks.
Feel free to poke around and look for work products of interest to you and
relevant to your needs and requirements.
