Greetings
from the beautiful Pacific Northwest! We have a fantastic
Regional planned this year and invite you and your fellow members to
join in on the fun. Don’t miss this train!! This
year’s
event is showcasing Railroad Time Pieces featuring a display of
authentic Antique and Vintage Railroad pocket
watches and Railroad Station regulator clocks, one of which is from
Seattle’s Historic King Street Station.
Chet Ekstrand VP
chapter 135 will present an informative and entertaining program on
railroad watches and how they “engineered” time keeping standards
across the continent, fulfilling the urgent need for time
synchronization. Paul Bellamy will be on hand for a show and tell of
his and Norm Nelson’s (both members of NAWCC Chapter 50) repair of the
King Street Tower Clock, highly lauded by the citizens of Seattle.
Nine of Leon Herbert’s Miniature Reproduction Clocks make a rare
appearance at this Regional. They were headed to
the 2009 National (NAWCC) but plans fell through and this
wonderful opportunity was offered to us. Mr. Herbert doesn’t
often let these miniature masterpieces travel far from his home in
Oregon; you can be among the extraordinarily few to ever see
this display!
