Background: Alex has two backgrounds. One
I designed for the RPG I played her in, and the other to fit her into the
Gold Digger universe so I could player her in on the GD2K mush.
1) Alex comes from a planet that was colonized by earth. This colony, known as Gia, or Tri Gia (because it was the third attempt at colonization), soon became populated by humans and the animals that they brought with them (some as genetic samples). Unfortunately, the humans began to fall prey to a native virus. Cat's and a few other animals seemed immune to the virus, and soon the humans found themselves either splicing cat DNA into their genetic code, or putting themselves into chryostasis pods. Unfortunately the first generation of these new cat people were feral and confused, and civilization collapsed on Gia. Thousands of years later Gia began to redevelop. Still holding memories of the original human or 'ancients' as they called them, and influenced by the latent psionic powers of the humans in cold sleep, they developed a world that parallel Earth in many aspects, particularly the entertainment industry. Due to differences in development Gains were split into two cast, the civilian cast who generally look like humans with fur, and the warrior cast, who more cat like faces, claws and the occasional tail. Alex is an anomaly, her face looks like a civilian, but she has claws. This and the fact that she has a tail (an evolutionary throwback) made her an outcast. Because she could fit in neither cast, she volunteered for the for the first space exploration in ships salvaged from the ancients. She is a first class pilot. 2) Unbeknowst to Alex, her father was Siberian were tiger, and a member of the Edge Guard many years ago. He ran afoul of a powerful mage, who stripped him of his ability to change forms and his memories and banished him to Earth. Alex's mother was one of the first women pilots and while stationed in Japan, she met Mr. Tora. Alex grew up in her mother's footsteps and became a first class combat pilot, she only discovered her ability to change into hybrid form when a faulty engine forced her to crash in the Rockies. The military was unsure of how to react to her new form. Because werewolves have negative reactions and legends about them, command was afraid that if the stories didn't hold true for her, that word of her status as a lycanthrope might affect moral. Alex was given medical leave, and generous severance package, and is now considered to be on reserve duty. Abilities: In both backgrounds Alex
is a first rate pilot, an excellent hand to hand combat, and a good shot
with a pistol. Alex can also withstand extreme cold temperatures. The GD2K
version can change between human, hybrid, and tiger forms.
