Fire Safety and Prevention Program
Learn Not To Burn
Although this truck is retired from fire fighting it still is
in active service as a teaching tool for fire safety and prevention education.
Each year we attend numerous events around the Cleveland, Akron, and Erie
area in which we take this truck and teach fire safety and prevention by
letting kids throw water from a real fire hose at a mock up of a burning
building. Upon successfully putting out the "fire", the Junior
Firefighter is presented a fire fighters helmet and a fire safety coloring
book.
This year we had two local television (Fox Channel 8) personalities
Big Chuck and Lil' John of the Big Chuck and Lil' John Show, join
in the fun of putting out the "fire" with the kids.
