If you had $500 and you had to spend it on just one or two records, what heavyweights would you add to your collection?

I'd like to get Carl Holmes "Investigation #1" for sure, though I'm not even certain what a fair market price for that record is... I guess I'd go for some rare latin funk with whatever was left.

Two copies of Stark Reality: one for good, and one to put snacks on. It sounds bananas, but it'd be great way to make a name:

"Hey, have you seen that picture of Mo's wall, where he's got the five Skull Snaps lined up?"

"Yo, fuck that--you want heat? I went to some kid's house and he was serving some bean dip offa Stark, son. Had a bowl of chips on the jacket and the dip right on the record, straight up."

"Word?! Stark?! Bean dip?!"

"I swear to god, kid; I saw it myself."

"Daaaaamn. Can you imagine what his GOOD records must be like?..."

True, I'd have fucked up a perfectly good record, but I'd be legendary like "Mardi Gras" without the bells...

naw - I'd have to be generous and buy every Herb Alpert LP in every dollar bin everywhere then take them to a landfill and light thema all on fire. that way I could save people all the hassle of going through countless bullshit fucking wack nonsense wax....

I'd cop Stark Reality or Rufus Harley - Re-creation of the gods

Seeee Yaaaa Tomorroooooooooow...............

Speaking of Stark Reality, has anyone heard Hoagy Carmichael's - Hoagy Carmichael's Havin A Party CD or LP. It is basically all of the vocals from Stark Reality LP(Comrades, The Whale, Grandfather Clock etc.) but with no funk behind it(stricly kiddie stuff)

a nice copy of "Its Becasue Im Black" would be nice, and then I would get a copy of Snaps, hooked the drums and sell it for a grand

"Word?! Stark?! Bean dip?!"
that my new signature, as long as james clears the sample

I can't front on the title track on this piece, but am I crazy for thinking the rest of the album isn't that hot? I listened to a reissue a year or so ago, and it made me happy I'd hooked up the IIBIB 45 (even though it's only about half the song) rather than forking out the bill plus for the lp.
