"For Women Only" and the men they love

If there is a man out there that you love dearly, or if you ever THINK there will be a man like that, this book is a quick, and should be required, read. The author, of "For Women Only," conducted a national survey, in addition to doing personal interviews with over 1,000 men, to find out what really makes them tick. In other words she asked the MEN, rather than experts who deal with men. I think most women will be completely surprised at what they discover about men in this little book. Some of the things you learn is that they aren't as confident as they may appear and may express that lack of confidence in familiar ways, what they think about sex and so many of the mental pictures they may accumulate, how so much of what they feel about themselves is wrapped in their work, and so much more. This book is like a light bulb going off, and suddenly it all makes sense, and once you understand, you can support those special men in your lives so much better. While the book is from a Christian publisher, I truly believe that women of ANY faith can benefit from the information in this book. It is a quick read, so don't put it off; find it, and read it. Be amazed, and love that man in a more effective way with the understanding that the book's reading will guide you to. For more information, or to order the book, go to... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1590523172/qid=1128284824/makeanote  If you buy the book, be sure to spend the few extra cents to get the hardback, it is a book you will mark and read over & over again, and pass around to your friends. Too busy to read, you can get it in audio CD... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1590525744/ref=lpr_g_2/makeanote

Tutor Nation

If you or your child need tutoring, then this website can be a useful tool. It brings together lists of tutors, so you can search your area and subject to find someone that might be able to help. You can look at a little info page and get their contact info. We still recommend going through your school first (see our back issue article below), but if you need to seek out help outside the school system, this might be a good place to start. Be sure not to sign up for a huge number of sessions. Ask the tutor if you can do a trial session (paying them, of course) to see how the pupil & tutor hit it off. Shop around. To check out Tutor Nation, go to...

Delivery Food Beacons

The only way that good businesses STAY in business is through good word of mouth, and advertising. So here's an article to share with all of your favorite restaurants that deliver to your home. Pizza Beacons makes a product that can be used for pizza AND other food delivery businesses. The beacon fits in the palm of your hand, and has 8 blinking red lights on it w/an on/off switch. It has a magnet on the back (to keep on your fridge when not in use), and a suction cup to attach to your window whenever an order is placed. The logo of the restaurant w/phone number goes on the front of the beacon where the lights are. So you place an order, let them know you have a beacon, place it on your window, and it helps the delivery people find the place faster (so they can get to more deliveries sooner). Not only that, but you will have neighbors asking about the blinking beacon and wanting to get in on the action. Many restaurants who use the beacons will also give discounts to people who use them. They also have fund-raising plans where a charitable group (or the business itself for that matter) can sell the beacons for your business along w/a coupon book, return some money to you, and keep some for their charity. So print out this article & take to your favorite restaurants, along with the main page of the website...
http://www.pizzabeacons.com  And help keep your favorite places in business.

POST IT...with your favorite delivery restaurant managers.

Christmas Card Poll Results

As promised, we have the results from our Make a Note poll on how our readers feel about Christmas Greetings. The results may surprise you; I know certain results surprised us. First, what people like...45% prefer handwritten notes, but do NOT mind form letters. Another large number 37% said they actually preferred form letters with or without a handwritten note, because more info could be shared than in a handwritten letter. This was a big surprise, since you always hear people go on & on about how they hate form letters. Only 8% said they wouldn't want any kind of form letter. Now for what people do NOT like...97% said they do not like email Christmas greetings, and 34% said that if you are just going to send a printed signature or signed card that you shouldn't even bother (no one said they would like to receive the latter, the rest just had no opinion on it). While form letters are a lot more popular than we would have expected, there was one consistent request...share your family news, but don't overdo it with personal triumphs or material possession news. There are probably some among our readers who are violently opposed to receiving form letters or signed cards. If this is the case, I'd ask you to remember that no matter what people are sending, they don't mean to aggravate you, and if you really hate it, just throw it in the trash.

Missing People Request

Instead of a missing person this issue, I'd like to encourage all of our readers to email me if they have any missing person they would like us to feature. This can be a person that may be a victim of crime, or someone whom you have lost touch with due to the hurricanes. While we can only feature one person an issue, we welcome any requests from our readers, and will see if we can help. Please send as much information as possible to our email address. If hurricane related, we ask that you use the tips in our 9/7/2005 issue BEFORE you contact us. You may tell other INDIVIDUALS about this service, BUT DO NOT POST THIS MESSAGE ON ANY WEBSITE, MESSAGE BOARD, EZINE, OR OTHER PUBLIC NEWS SERVICE. DO NOT! THIS IS NOT FOR PUBLIC DISSEMINATION, as we are not equipped to handle that kind of traffic.

Final Words

JOKE (This is supposed to be a true story, but we cannot confirm this. )

Normally the Great Dane was very sweet, but he had one quirk: he hated UPS drivers/delivery men. One day while his owner was walking him, they encountered a UPS man. The owner was trying hard to hold the Great Dane back, trying to reassure the UPS man, and said, "As you can see, he just loves UPS men." The UPS man replied, "Don't you feed him anything else?"

QUOTE

"I must conclude with a more delightful subject,--my most dear and blessed sister: I never saw a more perfect instance of the spirit of power and of love, and of a sound mind. She showed intense love, almost to the annihilation of selfishness--a daily martyrdom for twenty years, during which she adhered to her early-formed resolution of never talking about herself."

--Thomas Arnold(1795-1842)

EDITOR'S NOTE: How many of us could use a bit of that resolution (of never talking about oneself), I know I could.
