Flaky Scalp? If you have thinning hair or problems with a flaky scalp, you are definitely
going to want to read this article closely. The thing that amazes me the most
about this product, I'm about to recommend, is that I didn't hear about it
sooner. I've always lost quite a bit of hair (some hairdressers have actually
asked me if I was on chemo), but early last year I started losing so much that
it even started to alarm ME. When I would wash my hair, I actually had to stop
and rinse the loose hair off my hands more than once, or the hair would get
tangled in my fingers. My doctor did tests, couldn't find any reason for the
loss, attributed it to that all time catch all of "stress," and said it would go
away. It didn't. My hairdresser recommended a product line called NIOXIN, I
bought the starter pack of shampoo, conditioner, and a spray on treatment.
Literally in one week's time I went from losing handfuls of hair to only about
3-4 hairs whenever I shampooed. I am NOT exaggerating! I know this article is
going to sound like an ad (no I'm not getting any money out of this), but I have
never seen something work this well and this fast. After the drastic improvement
in my hair, I did more research into the products and you can read more about
them at... * * * * * * * Other Hair HelpsIf the products above are out of your price range, or if you would like to help your hair out even more while using the products, here are a few tips. Find a good hairstylist who can help you find a cut that is low maintenance. The fewer chemicals (coloring, perms, relaxers, highlights, etc) that you use on the hair, the better it will do. There's a reason they tell pregnant women not to use certain hair chemicals while pregnant, folks. Find a style that doesn't require blow drying, the heat also isn't good for the hair. Find a style that doesn't require curlers, curling irons, or other styling tools that pull at your hair. Usually hair does better if it is shorter (less weight to put pressure on the roots), and doesn't have to be pulled back with clips or bands. In other words, you are really looking for a wash & go style, that can dry naturally. Don't fight your hair's natural tendencies. How many people with straight hair do everything possible to make it curl, and vice versa? Your hair will usually be the most attractive when allowed to go it's own way as much as possible. Not only will your hair be healthier if you follow these tips, but you will save money on all those treatments/products you were using, and think of the TIME you will save not doing all these things. I think you will be happy with the result. POST IT...near your hair products/tools. * * * * * * * "Horton Hears a Who"For those of you celebrating Sanctity of Human Life Week/Sunday, a great book for even the youngest children is "Horton Hears a Who" by Dr. Seuss, because of the chorus, "A person's a person, no matter how small". We make a tradition of reading this book on SOHL Sunday every year. POST IT...on your shopping list, and mark your calendar for this year and the next. * * * * * * * Slick SledsWe may still get a bit of snow before winter is over, and here's a tip for all those snow sleds out there...spray a non-stick cooking oil spray onto the area where the sled meets the snow, and let dry a bit before using. Should help keep the snow from sticking & make the sled go a little faster. This might stain clothes a bit if there is contact, but probably no more so than rubbed in dirt or grass. You can always use our laundry tip (April 16th, 1997)in our very first Make a Note issue to get the stains out a little easier (usually). See our back issue instructions below to go to that issue. Always monitor children when they are sledding so they aren't heading for anything dangerous. POST IT...on the wall near where sleds are stored. * * * * * * * Recipe: Best Bean Salad Ever (from Elizabeth L.)This is MY title for the salad, not Elizabeth's. But after trying it at a
church potluck, I thought it was the best one I've ever tasted. When I was
trying to find the chef, everyone I asked said, "no, it wasn't me, but it sure
was good wasn't it." So here's the recipe for you to try, and let me know what
YOU think. :-) For the dressing stir together:
Combine the following and pour dressing over:
Cover & chill until serving time. POST IT...on your shopping list and recipe box. * * * * * * * Back Issue Treasure: December 18th, 2002 IssueHead to this back issue for a wonderful movie to watch at Christmas, or anytime. If you're a woman looking for a way to keep those resolutions for home and family, this back issue has a book you may want to buy.
