MAKE A NOTE SEARCH ENGINE (HERE BY POPULAR DEMAND)
Well, you asked for it, and our webmaster took the ball & ran with it, and now the web site comes equipped with a brand new SEARCH ENGINE!! It searches not only back issues, but the whole site. We are still in the process of adding back issues to the data base. The year 2000 is all there, and most of 1999, we should have the remaining (1999-1997)on hand in about a month. So even if you are looking for something in particular & don't find anything, be sure to check back later to see if it was added. SEX OFFENDER STATE LISTINGS
This web site has links to state web sites (or contact info) to find out if a registered sex offender lives in your neighborhood. No matter what the sites say, you need to watch your children like a hawk. But if you check & a convicted sex offender lives nearby, you should be extra vigilant. There aren't any in our neighborhood, but someone is registered at an apt complex down the road a bit, and I cringe when I see children left unattended in their parking lot. Even if you don't have young children of your own, do your grandkids, nieces, nephews, or friends' children come to visit? Or do YOUR children go to play at someone else's home on a regular basis? Check it out at http://www.stopsexoffenders.com/statelistings.html In most cases you can type in your zip code & it will give you a list. POST IT...by your computer.

VISIBLE SPACE STATION
This is a fun one for the kids & star gazers out there. Did you know that NASA's partially finished space station can be seen up in the sky w/the unaided eye, if you know where to look? As they add more to it, it will become even more noticeable. To find out where to look, depending on where you are on the planet, go to http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/sighttext/iss_index.html. TACTICS IN DEFENDING THE FAITH
"Tactics in Defending the Faith" is a wonderful resource for anyone who enjoys the strategy of a good debate. While it focuses on defending the Christian faith in discussions with others, the "tactics" used are really good for being logical in any debate. Even my 8 & 11-yr-olds could appreciate the errors in certain arguments. With catchy descriptive phrases like Columbo, Taking the Roof Off, Just the Facts Ma'am, Sticks & Stones, and Steamroller, to help jog your memory, this is sure to open your eyes to poor logic. There is a videotape, however, I recommend the less expensive audio tapes with study notes. You will want to listen to these tapes over & over again to review, and the study notes are helpful to keep track of things that might pass a bit fast on the tapes. CONSUMER REPORTS AUTO ISSUE ONLINE
For those of you who missed Consumer Reports BIG April Auto Issue, here is your chance to get at least some of the info absolutely free. Consumer Reports Online has lists of recommended cars & cars to avoid, including used cars. They do not have quite the detail on each car, like they do in the magazine, but it can still be quite helpful when you are in the market for a good new or used car.
