WEB SITE NEWS

Your response to the web site was tremendous and we thank you for all your kind words. The Links & Resources AND Bonus Stuff pages are still heavily under construction. On the Links & Resources page we have added the feature of arrows pointing to the new links. That way you can easily see the sites you might not have been to yet. We are working on two projects for the Bonus Stuff page, one is a list of over 70 Children's Magazines with info on subject, age, cost, and other info. The other Bonus Stuff project is a list of well-known home businesses with info about how to get started and also what the returns can be for those involved. So keep checking that web site and let us know what you think & what you would like to see on the site AND in this ezine. POST IT...by your computer.

STATE QUARTERS MAP

Most of you have heard that between now and 2008 the U.S. Mint will be releasing 5 state quarters a year. Each quarter has a design on the back selected by each state. The quarters are being released in the order they became states. There are several companies that are selling Album Maps for these quarters, but I think Tristar has the best deal. You get an album map where each quarter can be put in a slot for each state. They are color coded to the year they are being released with a list at the bottom of the map that has which quarters will be released each year. Also included is a book of state facts and the first 5 quarters in uncirculated condition. This particular map is also the largest one. For one set the price is $25.98, BUT if you order two, it is $40.97, AND even better, if you order a set of three it comes to $49.96 which works out to about $16.65/set. So buy some for birthday gifts for relatives or friends coming up, or call your friends & see if they would like to get a set too. Fun AND educational.  You can order by calling 1-800-528-7676. POST IT...by your phone/calendar (for checking on kids' birthdays that might be coming up).

LIFETIME NIGHT-LIGHT

Not that it is high on my list of annoyances, but night-lights do tend to burn out at the most inconvenient times, break, get too hot, stick out & get knocked down, put off too much light, or have to be turned off & on every day. Here's a new product that will take care of all that. There is a new night-light called the "Indiglo Night-Light", and it is great. It lays flat on the wall, never gets hot, has a LIFETIME guarantee to never burn out, puts out just the right amount of light, and even though it stays on all the time it uses only 2 cents worth of electricity a YEAR!! So even though it runs around $5, it will pay for itself quickly considering that replacement bulbs for regular night-lights run 70 cents or more a piece. There is also an Indiglo Night-Light that displays the time on the same panel, although that one runs about $8. So buy it, plug it in & forget about it. POST IT...on your shopping list. (Editor's Note-Recent medical studies have shown that children who sleep with a night light IN their rooms are more likely to need glasses when they get older. While these are relatively new studies, it might be a good idea to keep the lights in the bathrooms or hallways.).

SPECIAL EVENTS COUNTDOWN CLOCK

We ALL have them, those special days that we are counting down to. It may be retirement, big birthdays, a wedding, baby's due date, graduation, a vacation, return of a parent or end of a tour (for those military families), or maybe even a work-related project. The Short-Timers Clock is a great idea for a gift for someone who is counting down, or something to get for yourself if YOU are doing the countdown. This is also a gift that could have been tailor made for those children who ask constantly, "How long until... (fill in the blank w/ Christmas, my birthday, daddy gets home, etc)". One of the things that makes it so great is that all you have to do is program in the current day/time, then the day you are counting down to, and it does all the math for you. It will then display the days, hours, minutes, and seconds until the day. Unlike most countdown clocks this one also displays the current time for you, AND it runs about $12 less than any other I have ever seen. It can also be re-set and re-used over and over again. This great little item can be purchased for $18.25 (that includes everything), and if you order more than one you also get a break on the shipping for the additional clocks. You can order one at http://www.shorttimersclock.com or by calling 1-888-264-8515, (505)478-2217, by FAX (603)415-2315, or by email at shorttimersclock@shorttimersclock.com POST IT...by your computer or phone (we will also add this link to our Links

& Resources page on the web site).

JOKE (From Susan C.)

One afternoon a man came home from work to find total mayhem in his house.  His 3 children were outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes & wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, & the throw rug was wadded up against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys & various items of clothing. In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door. He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she may be ill, or that something serious had happened. He found her lounging in the bedroom, still curled in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel.  She looked up at him,, smiled, and asked how his day went. He looked at her bewildered and asked, "What happened here today?" She again smiled and answered, "You know every day when you come home from work and ask me what in the world did I do today?" "Yes" was his incredulous reply. She answered, "Well, today I didn't do it."

QUOTE (From Glory G.)

"As I tell my boys, 'When you point your finger at what someone else is doing wrong, how many fingers are pointing back? There are 3 fingers (pointing back at yourself) which means you have a lot more things to correct before you can expect someone else to change.'"
