Carl Scheirer Family
Johann Carl Scheirer was born 1793 July 21 according to a record
in the Kirchenbuch (church book) of DeLong's Church in Bowers,
Maxatawny Township, Pennsylvania [1]. His parents
were Carl Scheurer and Philippina Weida,
and the sponsors at his baptism were Gottlieb Weida and Margaret.
In 1818 Carl married Catherine Hensinger who was born 1800 January 6
[2]. Carl inherited the family farm when his father
died in 1818, but about 1836 the family moved to Lowhill Township
in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania [2].
