Howard Township communities include:   Becks Mill, Organ Spring and Rosebud.


Jackson Township communities include:  Martinsburg.

Jefferson Township communities include:  Haleysburg, McKinley, Prowsville and Rush Creek Valley.

Madison Township communities include:  Livonia.


Monroe  Township communities include:  Kossuth and Plattsburg.


Pierce Township communities include:  Farabee and New Pekin.  New Pekin extends into western Polk Township, where the community of Old Pekin is located.


Polk Township communities include:  Bartle, Blue River, Daisy Hill and Old Pekin.  New Pekin extends into western Polk Township, from Pierce Township.


Posey Township communities include:  Fredericksburg and Hardinsburg.


Vernon Township communities include:  Claysville and Smedley.


Washington Township communities include:  Canton, Harristown, Hitchcock, Norris (Harristown) and Salem (the county seat).
