UUS (University Underwater Society)
aka University of Texas Dive Club (1980-1986)

A big chunk of Kerry's diving legacy lies with the University of Texas Dive Club: during his time there it was called UUS or University Underwater Society.  Kerry had nearly 7 full years at the UUS (including 3-4 years as the UUS President).   This included a huge number of dives at Lake Travis and numerous club trips: several ventures to Lake Amistad (including finding an ancient native American skeleton within a small cave that became exposed when the lake level had dropped), trips to Cozumel, an exciting trip to Baja/La Paz (i.e., Sea of Cortez), oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico (with a boat captain who had been a navy divers that was in charge of the  Mercury Astronaut recoveries - he and his folks were the ones that jumped out of the helicopters and secured the capsules), cave/cavern diving in Florida, snorkeling trips in the San Marcos River,  and an "exciting" road trip to Central Mexico to dive Springs/Caves.

Below we show just a few of the pictures that date back to some of the UUS/University of Texas Scuba Club.  As usual you can click the small pictures to see a larger image.

A few pictures from one of our Lake Travis Dives.  This set of dives were near the ARL (Applied Research Labs) barges, near to Mansfield Dam.  These dives took place around ***.  In the images you can see ****

One of the more exciting trips that UUS/University of Texas Scuba Club had was the Baja trip during March of ****.

Here are some more pictures from the Baja trip:

We continue with a few more scattered pictures:

In the picture to the right e show a picture from one of Canyon Lake trip.

In the picture it shows  Sherbak (who unfortunately passed away a few years ago) and Tim Kennedy.

The club did take a couple of trips to Cozumel during that time.  Below are a couple of shots that show David Lindberg and Kerry in Cozumel.  It was interesting in that Dave literally found out that he was going on that trip at the last minute.  Mitchel Spence was set to go, but came down with the flu the night before the plane was to take off, and Dave actually was at the airport and wasn't sure if he would take Mitch's spot until about an hour before the plane took off!!
