Michel Plasse---1st Pro Goalie To Score Goal
Kansas City Blues History
Kansas City Scouts History
The first professional goalie to score a goal was Michel Plasse of the Kansas City Blues.
Plasse was a number 1 draft pick by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1968 NHL Draft. He not only played with the CHL KC Blues, he also saw action in the NHL. He played for the St. Louis Blues, Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, Quebec Nordiques, and the Scouts. His overall NHL record was 92-136-54, posting a 3.79 GAA. Plasse retired in 1982.

Michel Plasse went on to play for the Quebec Nordiques of the NHL.THE GOAL-It was February 21, 1971 and Kansas City had just had a major snowstorm. Only 815 people braved the elements to watch the Blues take on Oklahoma City. The announced paid attendance was 2,523.
KC was leading 2-1 when OKC pulled goaltender Jack Adams and inserted a 6th attacker. OKC defenseman Paul Hurley dumped the puck into the Blues zone and directly onto Plasse's stick. Plasse flipped it high and toward the goal.
Of the goal, Plasse said, "I wasn't trying to score, I was just clearing the puck out of our zone."
Unfortunately, there is no video available of this feat, but it clearly puts KC in the hockey history books.Season Team Lea. GP W
