Blues vs. Predators

The NHL Faceoff was a preseason exhibition game between the St. Louis Blues and the Nashville Predators (then an expansion team). The game was organized by NHL21. The game was sponsored by Nations Bank.

When it was first announced the Blues would be playing an exhibition game in Kansas City, many believed they would get to see NHL All-Star Brett Hull. Unfortunately for those fans and promoters of the event, Brett Hull signed with the Dallas Stars. But other NHL players were there in action. Captain Chris Pronger, veteran goalie Grant Fuhr, forward Geoff Courtnall, and enforcer Tony Twist were were just a few of the Blues who played. Defenseman Al McInnis was in the stands due to injury. Nashville had lesser heard of players like Jamie Hewward, Dominic Roussel, Jeff Nelson, and Scott Walker.
The game was far from being a sell out, only 9,346 people showed up. It didn't even match the mark of the top attendance figures for the Blades. But those who showed up were treated to a great show.
The Predators were the home team as far as the record book went, but St. Louis had the crowd rooting them on. The Blues won 6-5, but the Predators put up a valiant effort in their attempted comeback. Along with lighting up the lamp, there were a few fights, and Tony Twist was thrown out of the game.
