Al Rollins

Kansas City Pla-Mors History


Al Rollins played for the Kansas City Pla-Mors during the 1948-49 season. He also played in the National Hockey League for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, and New York Rangers. He won the Vezina Trophy and Hart Trophy. He was a NHL All-Star in 1954. He played in 60 games for the Pla-Mors, with a 29-21-10 record and a 3.16 goals against. For the 1950-51 Leafs season, he and Turk Broda partnered up to create one of the first two goalie systems in the NHL. As a Maple Leaf, Rollins posted a 1.77 GAA, the best in the NHL between 1940 and 1972.
