From South Russia to the Dakotas

In October, 1900, Joseph and Magdalena Sahli and their three children Katherine, Elizabeth and Frank along with Joseph's father Ignatz left Kleinliebental, Russia in the Ukraine for a new life in the United States. From Odessa, Russia they boarded a train and traveled to Bremen, Germany, where ship travel arrangements were made on the Kaiser Wilhelm Der Grosse. (click for ship description)
