SATAN

                 Jesus said a good deal about Satan

 1. Called him "the enemy" (Mt. 13:39).
 2. "The evil one" (Mt. 13:38).
 3. "The prince of this world" (Jn. 12:31; 14:30).
 4. "A liar," and "the father of lies" (Jn 8:44).
 5. "A murderer" (Jn. 8:44).
 6. Said that he "saw him fallen from heaven" (Lk. 10:18).
 7. That he has a "kingdom" (Mt. 12:26).
 8. That he "sowed tares among the wheat" (Mt. 13:38, 39).
 9. He "snatches Word from hearers" Mt. 13:19; Mk. 4:15; Lk. 8:12).
10. That he "bound a woman for 18 years (Lk. 13:16).
11. That he "desired to have Peter" (Lk. 22:31).
12. That he has "angels" (Mt. 25:41).
13. That "eternal fire is prepared for him" (Mt. 25:41).

                   The Bible Represents Satan as:

 1. "The tempter" (Mt. 4:1).
 2. "The prince of demons" (Mt. 13:24; Mk. 3:22; Lk. 11:15).
 3. "Source of demoniacal possession" (Mt. 12:22-29; Lk. 11:14-23).
 4. That he put the betrayal into the heart of Judas (Jn. 11:2,27).
 5. That he perverts the Scripture (Mt. 4:4; Lk 4:10, 11).
 6. That he is "the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4).
 7. That he is "the prince of the power of the air" (Eph. 2:2).
 8. That he "fashions himself into an angel of light (2 Cor 11:14).
 9. That he is our "adversary" (1 Pet. 5:8).
10. He is "the deceiver of the whole world" (Rev. 12:9; 20:3,8,10).
11. Calls him "the great dragon," "old serpent" (Rev. 12:9; 20:2).
12. The "seducer of Adam and Eve" (Gen. 3:1-20).
13. That he will "flee if resisted" (Jas. 4:7).
14. That he caused "Paul's thorn in the flesh" (2 Cor. 12:7).
15. Hindered Paul's missionary plans (1 Thess. 2:18).
16. Caused Ananias to lie (Acts 5:3).
17. That Gentiles are under his power (Acts 26:18).
18. That he blinds the minds of unbelievers (2 Cor. 4:4).
19. False teachers are "a synagogue of Satan" (Rev. 2:9; 3:9).
20. Can produce false miracles (2 Thess. 2:9).
21. Is the moving spirit of "Apostasy" (2 Thess. 2:9).
22. As a roaring lion seek to devour Christians (1 Pet. 5:8).
23. Is overcome by faith (1 Pet 5:9).
24. Is wily (Eph. 6:11).
25. Is the spirit that works in the disobedient (Eph. 2:2).
26. Moved David to sin (1 Chron. 21:1).
27. Caused Job's troubles (Job 1:7---2:10).
28. Was the Adversary of Joshua (Zech. 3:1-9).
29. Gets the advantage of Christians (2 Cor. 2:11).
30. Evil men are his children (1 Jn. 3:8, 10).

   Thus, Satan is very real, very powerful, constantly seeking to
lead mankind into sin, into rebellion against Jehovah. He is a
force to be reckoned with. We must ever be on guard.
