Daniel, page 3
CHAPTER TWO
Neduchadnezzar is troubled by a dream which he demands that his
wise men not only interpret, but also that they reveal the dream.
Daniel receives a vision from God, describes the dream and gives the
interpretation. The dream reveals the character and destiny of four
pagan empires and the coming of the kingdom of God. The great image
of Nebuchadnezzar's dream depicted four world-wide kingdoms, their
fall and the rise of the kingdom of heaven.

Kingdom
This kingdom of God is the church which was established on the
day of Pentecost in Jerusalem, A.D. 30. It is the last world-wide
kingdom, now encompassing the entire world.
Nebuchadnezzar acknowledges that the God of Daniel was of a
truth the "God of gods" (verse 47). Daniel is elevated to the
position of ruler over the whole province of Babylon.
CHAPTER THREE
Nebuchadnezzar makes an image (approximately 90 feet in height)
of gold and calls for the people to fall down before it and worship
the image. The three friends of Daniel, placing their faith in God,
refuse to bow to the king's decree to worship the image. The reply of
these three displays an extreme depth of conviction and confidence in
God (verses 17 and 18).
Nebuchadnezzar, full of fury, demanded the furnace to be heated
seven times hotter than usual and commanded Daniel's friends to be
cast into the fire. The three come out of the furnace unsinged. God
once again demonstrates His power before the dignitaries of the
empire -- the Power of the God of Judah over the gods of the
Babylonians.
