Who Are We?
We are a group of baptized believers who have obeyed the Gospel (Good News) of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are involved in fellowship with each other in the work and worship of the White Park Church of Christ.
It is our hope and prayer, our expectation, to do all that our Lord has asked of us, but also to do only that which He asks. It is our intent to "Speak where the Bible speaks, and to remain silent where the Bible is silent."
We believe that the book called the Bible is the inspired Word of Jehovah God. It was given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is the guide for man from earth to Heaven. It is our desire to believe and accept (and practice) all that it teaches and to do nothing that is not authorized by that Word, in harmony with the apostle Paul's admonition given to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
Under the guidance of God's Word we meet together at specified times to worship Jehovah. On each and every Lord's Day we: (1) engage in congregational singing, without the use of mechanical instruments of music (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16); (2) partake of the Lord's Supper (Acts 20:7); (3) contribute of our means with free will offerings (1 Corinthians 16:1,2; 2 Corinthians 9:7); (4) offer up sincere prayers from the heart (Philippians 4:6; Colossians 4:2); and (5) study from the Word of God.
As a congregation we are totally independent and autonomous. This means that we are not a part of any association or diocese. Thus, we are not a denomination, nor are we affiliated with any denominational ties.
Individually we are Christians (Acts 11:26). Collectively we are the Church of Christ (Romans 16:16). We believe if the same seed is sown (Luke 8:11) the same product will result. It is our plea that all might be united as our Lord prayed (John 17:20-21). But, unity must be based upon Truth.
It is our sincere desire to live daily lives that are a reflection of the example of Jesus Christ. Each Christian is to be an influence for good in the world in which we live.
