        Galatians 5:22, 23 1 Corinthians 13:1-7

1. Love Does not seek her own, is not selfish
                               or self-centered (5)

2. Joy Love does not rejoice in iniquity,
but rather rejoices in the truth (6)

3. Peace Love is not easily provoked, but is
                               serene and stable. (5)

4. Longsuffering Love suffers long, perseveres, is
                               patient. (4)

5. Kindness (gentleness) Love is merciful, thoughtful, and
                               concerned, it envies not. (4)

6. Goodness Love is great, gracious, and
generous; it is kind and good. (4)

7. Faithfulness Love thinks no evil, but has faith
                               in God and others. (5)

8. Meekness Love is humble and gentle, does not
                               vaunt itself. (4)

9. Self-control (temperance) Love is disciplined and controlled,
                               does not behave unbecomingly. (5)

"God is love." (1 John 4:8) Our love is a manifestation of the
love of God in our hearts. We become a reflection of God as we
exhibit the characteristics of love. One cannot please God without
love. Yet, love is demonstrated by one's keeping the commandments
of God, 1 John 5:3. One cannot say that he/she loves God who does
not attempt to do all that the Lord has said in the way that He said
do it.
