HOW BEAUTIFUL HEAVEN MUST BE
Introduction:
1. Matt. 6:19, 20. Song: "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be."(357)
2. How often we need to stop and consider the beauties of Heaven.
3. What a vast contrast to what we see around us in this world.
4. Words are not adequate to describe such a place; yet, God's
word talks about it and surely we should talk about it.
I. HEAVEN IS A PLACE.
1. Heaven is neither a condition, nor a state, but a real
place.
2. Jesus speaks of it as a place -- Mt. 6:9; 7:ll; John 14:1,2.
3. Stephen spoke of it as a place. Acts 7:56
4. Paul says that it is. 2 Cor 5:1; Phil. 3:20; Heb. 8:1.
5. Peter speaks of it. 1 Pet. 1:3-5
II. SCRIPTURAL NAMES FOR HEAVEN.
1. The New Jerusalem. Rev. 21:2
2. The City of God. Heb. 12:22
3. Paradise. 2 Cor 12:4; Rev. 2:7
4. Our Father's House. John 14:1-6
III. REAL PEOPLE WILL BE THERE.
1. 1 Cor. 15:50ff -- Not flesh and blood, but incorruptible,
having been changed.
2. Some who will be there: Jesus (Acts 1:9); Elijah (2 Kgs.
2:ll); Enoch (Gen. 5:24); Moses (Matt. 17:3); Stephen (Acts
7:59-60); All the faithful (Rev. 2:10).
3. What a joyous occasion, to be able to sit with Moses and
talk about the great events which happened in his life;
with Paul, etc.
IV. HEAVEN WILL BE AN ETERNAL HOME OF BLISS.
1. Jesus is preparing the many mansions. John 14:6. "Prepare"
suggest to make reservations. CF. You call ahead for motel
reservations; Owner does not build new rooms, but reserves
one for you.
2. It will be a building of God. 2 Cor 5:1; Heb. 11:16.
3. There will no more death. Lk. 20:35,36; Rev. 21:4.
4. It will be free from sorrow. Rev. 21:4.
5. With joys for evermore. Ps. 16:11, "Thou wilt show me the
path of life; In thy presence is fulness of joy; In thy
right hand there are pleasure for evermore."
6. Redeemed of all ages will be there. Mt. 8:11; 19:29.
7. Eternal life possessed. Mt. 25:46; Rev. 22:14.
8. Bliss, beauty. Rev. 21:1-7.
9. Illustration: Small girl looking at the stars. When asked by
her father, "What are you thinking," replied, "Daddy, if the
top of heaven is as beautiful as the bottom, I want to go
there, don't you."
10. Look around you. What do you see? Lawlessness, evil, hatred,
jealousy, wrath, ill-will, harshness, hard feelings (even
among brethren), WHAT A VAST DIFFERENCE IT WILL BE IN
HEAVEN.
V. HEAVEN WILL BE A PLACE OF BEAUTY.
1. Words have difficulty describing its beauty, but words are
all that have. And the Holy Spirit used words to describe
its beauty.
2. Rev. 21:9---Rev. 22:5 Can you grasp that? Appreciate???
VI. HEAVEN WILL BE A HAPPY PLACE.
1. Rev. 21:4
2. No cemeteries, no hospitals, no more funerals, no more
goodbyes, no more separations, no sinuses problems, no back
aches, no contact lenses, no more medicines, and on and on
we could go.
Conclusion:
1. AND, it will last forever and ever.
2. Don't you wish to go there?? How could one possible not want
to go to heaven?
3. Yet, multitudes are not preparing for that journey. They are
grouping through these days, floundering in iniquity, doing
that which pleases them, with no thought of pleasing God.
4. God has not left us without a map, without instructions.
5. Christ Jesus states that He is the way. John 14:6; Mt. 7:21.
6. Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.
7. Hell is a prepared place for unprepared people.
8. PREPARE TODAY, while time and opportunity is yours.
