SEEK

Introduction:
   1. Matthew 7:7-12
   2. We are to be seeking at all times; desiring, longing for,
   3. But, what are we to be seeking?
   4. Romans 2:7 --Glory, honor, incorruption--Eternal Life.
   5. Heb. 11:10 -- Follow Abraham's example; sought eternal city.
   6. In seeking Heaven and Eternal life we must continually be
       seeking certain things here:
   7. Notice the times "seek" is used in the scriptures, or a related
        idea of seeking.

Body:

   1. Things Above -- Col. 3:1

   2. Please God -- Gal. 1:10; Acts 5:28-29;
          Ecc. 12:13 -- "This is the end of the matter; all hath been
                     heard; fear God and keep his commandments; for
                     this is the whole duty of man."

   3. Study and Mediation -- Isa. 34:16 -- "Seek ye out of the book
                     of Jehovah, and read."
          1 Tim. 4:13-16; John 5:39; Acts 17:11; Ps. 1:1-5.

   4. Kingdom -- Matt. 6:33, seek the welfare of the church, the
              family of God,

   5. Peace and pursue it -- 1 Pet. 3:11; Eph. 4:1-4; Jude 3;
          Prov. 23:23 -- "Buy the truth and sell it not, yea wisdom
                     and instruction and understanding."

   6. Edify the church -- 1 Cor. 14:12; Acts 20:32.

   7. A good name -- Prov. 22:1--"A good name is rather to be chosen,
                     than great riches and loving favor than silver
                     and gold."
          How important that desire and seek a good name. Bring no
               reproach upon our family, nor the family of God.

   8. Good companions -- Eph 5:11; 1 Cor. 15:33.

Conclusion:

   1. Am I seeking Heaven? Are you?? Eternal Live??
   2. Then, these are some things which we must be striving to do;
      for which we must constantly be seeking.
   3. Matt. 13:45, 46 -- Seeking goodly pearls, finding it, sold all
          that he had and bought it.
   4. There is nothing of greater value than eternal life; Jesus said
          "what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"
   5. Eternal life is within the grasp of each one, but we MUST seek
          it if we would find it.
   6. Eternal life will be no accident!!!  No surprise!!!
   7. Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people.
   8. Surely, you desire to go to Heaven. SO SEEK, LONG FOR,etc.
