SCIENTIFIC ACCURACY OF THE BIBLE

    The Bible was not given to be a textbook on science; it tells
mankind how to live righteously.  The Bible does, however, contain many
scientific statements -- all proven to be factual.  Remember, these
statements were made hundreds of years before the discovery of the
truths by men.
    Listed are some of the scientific facts which prove the Inspiration
of the Word of God. "The Mind which directed the writing of the Bible
put into it many truths which were beyond the range of human comprehen-
sion and human knowledge at the time they were written" (DeHoff).

     1. Rotundity of the earth: Isa. 40:22; Prov. 8:27; Lk. 17:31-34.

     2. Suspension of the earth in space: Job 26:7.

     3. Number of the Stars: Gen. 13:16; 15:5; Jer. 33:22.

     4. The moon as a Witness: Ps. 89:37.

     5. Light is vocal: Job 38:19; 38:7.

     6. The Seas in their place: Gen. 1:10.

     7. Paths of the sea: Ps. 8:8.

     8. Life in the Blood: Lev. 17:11; Deut. 12:23.

     9. All nations of one blood: Acts 17:26.

    10. Dimensions of the Ark: Gen. 6:15.
             In March, 1919, the U. S. government launched its first
          concrete ship at San Francisco. The dimensions were 300 feet
          by 50 feet by 30 feet.
             Gopher wood -- to last 100 years, from the beginning of the

    11. Empty space in the North: Job 26:7.

    12. Formation of Static Electricity: Jer. 10:13.

    13. Process of rain, evaporation into air, and condensation to the
        earth again: Ecc. 1:7; Job 36:27,28.

    14. Quarantine, disinfection procedures, etc.: Lev. 13 and 14.

    15. The Three Kingdoms: Gen. 1
             (1) Mineral kingdom: Gen. 1:1-10; (2) Vegetable Kingdom:
                 Gen. 1:11-19; (3) Animal: Gen. 1:20-31.

    16. Five facts of science: Gen. 1:1,2.
             (1) "In the beginning" -- time; (2) "God created the
                 heaven"-- space; (3) "and the earth"-- matter; (4) "and
                 the Spirit of God"-- force; (5) "moved upon the face of
                 the waters"-- motion.
