Upper Starr's Plain Cemetery

Upper Starr's Plain Cemetery is one of two cemeteries in the southwestern part of Danbury. It is located on Starr's Plain Road, about 1.5 miles from Route 7. It is located on a bluff alongside the road, and is easily seen. The overall condition is fair. There are few broken or toppled stones here. There is also evidence of recent burials, such as new sod or metallic funeral home markers.

There are 67 gravesites that have been identified. In this transcription, the following codes have been used in the last column:

I = The stone inscription is not legible to the naked eye. Inscriptions were verified using one of several enhancing techniques.
M = The stone existed in 1934, at the time of the Hale Collection readings, but cannot be located at this time.
B = The stone is broken into two or more fragments. All fragments may not be present in the cemetery.
T = The stone has toppled over and is lying on the ground. It may or may not be in multiple fragments.
