Much of this cemetery is serenely laid out among the trees
A common problem with Connecticut Valley sandstone is the
interior disintegration, with subsequent cracking and
sloughing
of the face. Stones such as this are beyond salvage, and
are stark
testament to the need for full cataloguing of our historic
cemeteries.
