Rendered AutoCAD drawing of how the engine would have appeared when Herone was built in 1832.

The sidewheel steamer Heroine was built in 1832 and ended her career in 1838 when she ran onto a snag in the Red River just south of present day Hugo, Oklahoma. Recent investigations funded by The Oklahoma Historical Society and directed by Dr. Kevin Crisman of Texas A&M University's Nautical Archaeology Program have provided the data necessary to reconstruct what Heroine's engine looked like. Detailed drawings recorded by archaeologists diving on the wreck were used to create precise 3-D AutoCAD drawings that will be used to machine a scale model of the engine.
