Mary Bryan Van Hoose  --- Searching for Mary's Parents

John and Mary's grandson, George W. Van Hoose wrote that Mary's siblings were Owen, William, John and a sister (unnamed) married to a Rector. [Click on the link above to see the article written by George].

I have found an Owen Bryan married to Patience Rector with Patience's father married to Owen's sister (2nd wife for Bennet Rector.) Owen's last name was spelled in various ways depending on the record but for the marriage record found in Washington County Virginia he spelled it "O'Brient.  He and Patience married 5-15-1806.  I went on to find Owen's father-in-law's marriage record: Bennet Rector m. Sally Bryant 3/2/1808 (2nd wife).  Notice Sally spelled her name different.   So, Patience's dad took for his second wife Owen's sister.  Bennet and Owen appear in records in TN together.  I think its fair to say that they are in-laws to each other after looking at the information.   The other interesting part to their tale is that their descendants followed the same path to Washington County Arkansas as George VanHoose's parents. And Owen's and Sally Rector's descendants married into the same families as our Arkansas Van Hoose families.  Can this all be coincidence?  And here's a question for you. If Mary is part of the Morgan Bryan and Daniel Boone family, why don't we see a "Daniel Van Hoose" or "Rebecca Van Hoose" in the line?  Where is Morgan Van Hoose?  (This isn't proof of much but might be worth pondering.)  Bennet Rector's brother (or uncle depending on which researcher you talk to) is named "JESSE" .   Where did Mary and John Van Hoose find the name "Jesse Van Hoose" ?? I don't see a Jesse in earlier Van Hoose lines and Mary and John named most of their children after earlier Van Hooses.
