To the left is one of my garden helpers and one of my reasons for growing our food.

For another very good reason why we grow our food organically please read

We grow our food. You can too. How would you like to save money, have a safe and nutritious source of food and get relaxing aerobic excerise all at once? Are you afraid organic gardening is too hard? Its not!

We use our organic garden beds to teach our children about biodiversity, genetics, microbiology... etc. We've learned, painlessly, about the same as we optimize our garden, growling delicious and nutritious fruits and vegetables.

We would like to share with you how easily we grow our food in organic garden beds that take up as little space as 7000 square feet and yet feed our family of six. Follow my links to learn more about what we do. Honestly, organic gardening is easy, relaxing and fun! And its a great family activity, building character, family ties and bodies all at once.

A Rant about Chemical Corporations

We grow our own food. My husband, my children and I are working on turning a yard full of rocks, clay and chirt into a place where we can grow almost all of our own food.

We believe that using pesticides and fertilizers is extremely detrimental to our environment and to our health. Most studies that show pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers are SAFE are SPONSORED by the chemical companies that make profits from these products. University agriculture grants are funded MAINLY by these companies.

A systematic campaign to disinform consumers has been ongoing that claims that organic farming is not only hazardous to consumers' health but also detrimental to the environment! PURE BUNK

Why would we want to hand our hard earned money over to such devious and deceitful companies? We know their fertilizers are death to our soil and that their herbicides and pesticides are killing people.

The proponents of this media blitz of disinformation say that the use of manure leads to bacterial contamination and posit that organic farmers must use more land to grow their crops. Some even try to report that organic food isn't as nutritous.  They know what they say is a blantant lie but they are at the point that they will say anything because consumer pressure for safe food is finally coming to bear on non-organic producers and hence, the market for their poisons must diminish.

With billions of dollars to fund their "research" and advertise these "studies", these desecraters of Creation overwhelm the small voice of reason, the voice of organic growers. They have paid-for mouthpieces in the news media to spread their cabal.

I'd like to refute, quickly, claims that organics is hazardous. When the FDA proposed a new "organic" label that allowed the use of sewage sludge and genetically engineered foods as well as other atrocities, the organic farming community garnered huge support and led a very successful campaign to raise the standards for the organic label.  We are still fighting.  Organic Farming should be about family farms and not about corporate interests.  Corporations have money to corrupt but the organic community is large in numbers and ready and determined to safegaurd our food.

Organic farmers do not use animal manure that hasn't been aged, per national standards. Aged manure is free of such pathogens as E. Coli. MANY organic farmers do not use animal manure at all; I don't!

Most organic farms produce MORE food per square acre than non organic farmers and many follow practices such as intensive and biodynamic farming that allows them to prouce more food per square acre by 400%.

Because recent studies have shown that herbicides and pesticides have lead to an increase in cancer rates, chemical companies are on the defensive and will say anything to make consumers feel their food is safe. The constant use of pesticides in food and the increasing amount of herbicides used on our food (yes on the food itself if its genetically engineered) leads to higher cancer rates. Consumers are aware of the problem but chemical companies will say and do anything for their bottom line. YOu as consumers much chose. Please read and become educated and please speak up for family farms.
