- Dave: Thanks for this wonderful site. Us on the outer fringes of jazz Waco wise don't have many places to look or hear. I was so consumed by the TJO concert w/Bill Watrous last night (7/20). Absolutely wonderful. I was completely blown away by the last piece: Da ZZZ's. Greg Barshara is a friend of mine. What a duet he did w/Colin Mason. I follow you guys here in Waco. Again, THANKS!

My name is Ron T. Lewis and I just bumped into your web sight. I have printed damn near everything you had up.
At 55 years old, and having been listening, reading, going to live concerts, tried playing various instruments, having found out the only thing I can play was albums and cd's!, since I was ll years old. I was literally blown away by your web site. Send a brother a note some time. Peace out, Ron

- Thanks Dave for the Coltrane notes, bg, and information!
When in the U.S.Navy stationed in Washington D.C., I
went up to New York and caught the Coltrane Quartet with
Elvin Jones at the Village Vangard in '58 or '59.
Almost an "out-of-body" experience! The magnitude of his
presense - physically and musically was so powerful!
I can still see and remember everything about the evening!
Jazzman of the 20th Century for me!

and i'll be there to listen to them.

I just arrived on the site, haven't looked at everything yet
but much appreciate your efforts. There's one small glitch,
however, in Ornette's bio : I'm sure he would be astounded to
learn that Dewey Redman is his son (par. 7, end of line 6).

- A magnanimous undertaking, Mr. Wild. Nice work. Problem. There seems to be a dearth of Coltrane paraphernalia, i.e. posters, t-shirts, etc. I've searched to no profitable end. Let me know if you've any leads.
Nevertheless, it should be averred that Ole is perhaps the most underrated of Coltrane's works; 18 minutes of riveting momentum, culminating with Trane's astonishing intensity, and melancholy, Afro-Blue denouement--it transports and transforms me again and again.

- yo, I'm from Dublin, 26, big Coltrane fan for years, even though
I don't understand musical theory or naything like that. it's the
sound of music, as simple as that, and when I first heard coltrane it
blew my mind. I never heard or concieved anything like it. I play
bass (punk/funk and untrained and proud of that - it's feeling
that counts) and sometimes, I get pissed off w/liner notes that
I don't understand. Like most of yours though.
Keep it up

I don`t know if I can ask questions or not but here goes. How were you selected to write the liner notes on various Coltrane albums and who did the selecting?
