Objectives:
The JLSF/Aurora Foundation is hosting its 1st Charity Golf Classic
on June 26, 2006 at the exclusive La Costa Resort & Spa in
Carlsbad, California. Net proceeds from the tournament will fund
the Aurora Golf Scholarship, which outreaches to accomplished
golfers in Japan and provides the opportunity for the winner
to develop golf skills on the world-class courses in the United
States; and to benefit the mission of the Aurora Foundation.
Applications are now being accepted for the AURORA Charity Golf
Classic Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a citizen
of Japan who resides in Japan. The scholarship will
be presented to an individual with a high achievement dream or
challenge in his/her golf career. The decision of the judges
of the Aurora Charity Golf Classic Scholarship is final.
The winner will receive a $3000
scholarship and roundtrip air tickets from Tokyo, Japan to Los
Angeles and will participate and compete at the Aurora Charity
Golf Classic on June 26, 2006. By awarding this scholarship,
the Aurora Foundation hopes to help the winner enhance the pursuit
of her or his truest, most heartfelt dream by providing the opportunity
for a once in a lifetime experience on the world-class courses
of the United States in order to better develop their golf skills
and techniques.
Eligibility and
Application Requirements:
Applicants must be:
(1) All applicants must be of Japanese descent;
(2) The person must be a rookie golfer who has a promising
record from tournaments;
(3) seeking to become a professional golfer or has taken
and passed the PGA test in Japan;
(4) The application form is to be submitted by applicant
with the application fee of US$100 (money order) by May 25, 2006;

(5) After the tournament, the awardee must submit a report
to the Aurora Foundation about their experience in the United
States, the various golf courses they played and how this opportunity
has helped them in their career growth.
Judging Criteria:
Selection criteria will include the commitment of the applicants
to their career goal and dream, necessity of Aurora's support,
and positive future potential.
Deadline:
The completed application form and required materials must be
postmarked to the Aurora Foundation on or before May 25, 2006. The application form is available
online at the Aurora Foundation website, or upon request from
the Aurora Foundation office. The Scholarship Recipient
will be announced by June 5, 2006.
