Please can anybody say, what's this for a defect?
It is a problem which has existed since version 4.5; I think it has
something to do with the revised Messenger window structure since it
seems to occur on my system when I close windows in an 'unusual'
sequence. For example, it seems to often occur if the last window I
close (thus terminating NC) is a message window whose folder or
newsgroup message list window is already closed.
I rarely see the error anymore on my Windows 98. I used to see it about 4 or 5 percent of the time when closing NC. I think the problem was reduced by a Windows Library Update I applied many months ago -- in fact, I didn't see the error for about a year after that, but I now see it occasionally.
I doubt that there will ever be a fix for it with NC receiving little
attention now.
