Hi FA Briana,
I was hoping that this thread would continue as I am having the same problem as Lance. Intermittent crashes in messenger, all MSVCRT.DLL, using Netscape 4.75, WIN98. I have three instances of the file:
SYSTEM: 6.00.8297.0, 4/23/99
CABS: 5.00.7128, 4/23/99
C:\Program Files\3COM\MODEMMGR\Program: 5.00.7128, 8/19/97
I found a Netscape Article,1997000113-1, Invalid Page Fault in Navigator mail, which suggests that IPF's are usually caused by a corrupt Mail folder. It suggests rebuilding your mail folder by renaming it to Oldmail...which I did. Didn't help!

Try renaming the MSVCRT.DLL in the c:\Program Files to MSVCRT.Dxx and see if that makes any difference.
NOTE:
I did rename the file, and crashes stopped. This forced Netscape to use the Windows\System version of MSVCRT.DLL
