The film that helped jumpstart Michelle Yeoh's(She was known as Michelle Khan at this time, and didn't use Michelle Yeoh until after she came out of retirement) career! Here she's a Hong Kong cop who teams up with a Scotland Yard Investigator, played by Cynthia Rothrock, to solve a murder and recover a valuable piece of microfilm.
When reading reviews of this film there's one criticism I continously encounter, which I think is justified: The movie spends WAY TOO MUCH time focusing on the three criminals who are in possesion of the microfilm. A lot of time is devoted to the criminals, their relationship, and humorous situations that they become in which they become involved(some of Which I have to admit are funny). But I wanted to see more Michelle & Cynthia! They're the reason I'm watching the film! There are a lot of good but brief fights throughout the film, but "Yes, Madam" really delivers in the last 20 minutes, where Michelle and Cynthia take on a roomful of bad guys.
I've read many different reviews about how good this final fight is, and it's all true. Michelle and Cynthia really take a beating in this one, but they give it back twofold! Lots of bad guys being thrown through glass and thrown off balconies. And be sure to watch for the now-famous Michelle Yeoh breaks-through-glass-balcony-grabs-two-bad-guys-and-throws-them-to-the-floor scene! If you don't do anything else, at least watch the last 20 minutes of "Yes, Madam".
