HOW TO EMAIL ME SOMETHING I'LL READ

SUBJECT LINE IS EVERYTHING
On average, I'll get 40 to 60 spam emails per day, and sometimes I don't check my email for a few days if I'm away from my personal computer, and I'll have 100+ emails waiting for me, 90% or more which are spam.  I always begin my email sessions by deleting spam, and this is done by checking all messages, and then scanning the subject lines briefly for relevant looking subject lines.  If I find a questionable subject line, I'll glance at the email address to see if it's a familiar one, and if I recognize it, I'll uncheck it's box.  Otherwise, only emails with obviously relevant subject lines will be unchecked, and then the delete button will be clicked, removing all emails which still remain checked, a majority of which I have not glanced at it's email address.  I have found out in 10 cases out of 10 that even if an email has a slightly interesting looking subject line, it is still spam.  Now it's even gotten to the point where some spam will include my first name in the subject line.  So, the point is that if you want to email me, the subject line is the most important part.

Bad subject lines
- "Hi"
- "Hello"
- "Hi, Christian"

Good subject lines/keywords
Music related - [An artist's name], "Christian Music Discography - ...", "CD Trading - ..."
Other topics   - [Include some keyword in the subject line which I'll be sure to recognize]
If you're an old friend/acquaintance who's never emailed me before - "Hi, it's [your full name]"

If you email me, and I don't reply within a week, then chances are I've deleted your email because the subject line didn't stand out.  Most of the time, it's quite easy to distinguish spam from real email, but not always. So just be smart and put in several unmistakeable key words in your subject line, and it probably won't be deleted.
