The term Assistance Dog refers to a dog that has been especially trained to assist a disabled person. Some are called Guide Dogs, that assist the blind; Hearing Dogs or Signal Dogs that assist the Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing; and Service dogs that help assist persons with mobility disabilities or other disabilities such as siezure response, low blood sugar response, psychiatric support etc.
