Charter
The Botetourt Regional Cattlemen's Association was incorporated as a non-profit organization June 17th, 1996. We currently have 130+ members from various counties including Botetourt, Craig, Roanoke, Bedford, Alleghany and Montgomery Counties. Our objectives are:
*Improve the quality of cattle
*Improve the quality of forage
*Increase the efficiency of management and marketing practices
*Cooperate with similar organizations
Announcements
For the past few years the BRCA has worked with various members to pool our cattle and sell them by the truckload under the VQA program. Cattle sold through this program have brought a premium price each year. Each fall we also sponsor a heifer sale. Please contact Andy Allen at 540-864-5812 to sign up for the program or find out more information.
The BRCA has a $500 scholarship availabe to a graduating senior who plans to go into an agriculatural related field. For more information contact Laura Garst
Event Calendar
Meetings
Our Annual Meeting and Picnic is usually in August at Camp Easter Seals. Date and location of the 2008 meeting is still to be determined.
We now have two sets of scales available for members at no charge to weigh your calves. One set is a small portable set
and the second set includes a chute and headgate. To set a time to pick up the scales, please contact Carter Fleming at 540-864-5502.
We will offer mineral programs for the spring and fall of each year. Exact dates are to be determined but members will continue to be able to save money through our bulk orders program.

Our annual dues are $10. If you are interested in becoming a member we would be more than welcome to have you. It does not matter what county you live in, how big or small your operation may be. Our goal is to improve the quality of our herds in the most cost effective manner possible.
