JAV-OCHA COFFEE

I know, I know....my graphic at the top of the page says "ARIOSA" coffee. But Arbuckles' produced coffee under several other brand names as well, one of which was "JAV-OCHA". It seems that at least a small number of trade cards were produced for the JAV-OCHA brand. These were probably issued as "counter" cards, rather than "insert" cards. I don't have any of these in my own collection but Greg ArBuckle has supplied me with the images of the card shown below. The text on the back of this card indicates that there were 25 different picture cards "similar to this in quality". However, it's unclear whether this card is one of the 25 cards mentioned, or whether it's merely an example of the type of cards available. If the note that "no advertisement of any kind appears on them" really means that those cards were completely devoid of advertising on the back as well as the front, then it would probably be impossible to identify them today.
