The Ben Hur Museum in Crawfordsville, IN - "...The Ben-Hur Museum was built by General Lew Wallace for use as his private library and a quiet place where he could write..."  This site includes an Historical Sketch of Lewis (Lew) Wallace (1827-1905).  Lewis Wallace was born in  Brookville, resided in Covington, Fountain County, and moved to Crawfordsville, IN in 1853.
