First created in 1857.
County Seat is Fairmont.
Cities, towns and communities include:   Ceylon,  Fairmont, Imogene, Manyaska, Triumph, Truman, Welcome and Wilbert.

Martin County is located in southern Minnesota.  Neighboring Minnesota counties include:  Watonwan and Blue Earth counties to the north; Faribault county to the east; and Jackson county to the west.  The Iowa counties of Emmet and Kossuth are its neighbors to the south;
