Lake of the Woods County

Lake of the Woods County was first created in 1922 from Beltrami.
The COUNTY SEAT is Baudette.

Lake of the Woods County is located in northern Minnesota.  Neighboring Minnesota counties include:  Koochiching county to the east; Beltrami county to the south, and Roseau county to the west.  The Canadian Province of Ontario is its northern neighbor.

Most of County is encompassed within the Red Lake Indian Reservation, the Beltrami Island State Forest and/or the Northwest Angle State Forest.

Cities, towns and communities include:   Arresen, Baudette, Birch Beach, Carp, Clemenston, Graceton, Hackett, Long Point, Lovedale, Penasse, Pitt, Rako, Spooner, Wheelers Point, and Williams.
