Lac qui Parle County was first created in 1871 from Redwood.
Note: An old Lac qui Parle County was created in 1862, but was abolished
in 1868, and became part of Chippewa County.
The COUNTY SEAT is Madison.
Lac qui Parle County is located in western Minnesota. Neighboring
Minnesota counties include: Chippewa
and Swift counties to the east; Yellow Medicine county to the south, and Big Stone
county to the north. The South Dakota counties of Grant and Deuel are
its western neighbors.
Past and/or present cities, towns and communities include:
Bellingham, Boyd, Cerro Gordo, Dawson, Haydenville, Lac qui Parle, Louisburg,
Madison, Marietta, Nassau, Providence, and Rosen.

Tier 2: Walter, Perry, Lake Shore, Hantho,
Tier 3: Augusta, Arena, Madison, Cerro Gordo, Qui Parle,

Tier 5: Manfred, Freeland, Providence, Maxwell and Ten Mile Lake.
