Houston County

First created in 1854 (from a portion of Fillmore County).
County Seat is Caldonia.
Cities, towns and communities include:   Black Hammer, Brownsville, Caledonia, Freeberg, Hokah, Houston, La Crescent, Money Creek, Mound Prairie, Riceford and Spring Grove.

Houston County is located in the southeastern corner of Minnesota.  Neighboring Minnesota counties include:  Winona county to the north and Fillmore county to the west. The Wisconsin counties of La Crosse and Vernon are at it's eastern boundary and the Iowa counties of Winneshiek and Allamakee are at it's southern border.
