First created in 1855.
County Seat is Alberta Lea.
Located in west central Minnesota.
Cities, towns and communities include:   Albert Lea,  Alden, Austin, Bancroft, Bath, Clarks Grove, Conger,  Emmons, Geneva, Glenville, Gordonsville, Hartland, Hayward, Hollandale, London, Manchester, Moscow, Myrtle and Petran.

Freeborn County is located in southern Minnesota.  Neighboring Minnesota counties include:  Waseca and Steele counties to the north; Mower county to the east; and Faribault county to the west.  The Iowa counties of Winnebago and Worth are at it's southern border.
