Floyd County Communities
Franklin Township communities include:
Buchanan.
Georgetown
Township communities include: Duncan, Edwardsville and Georgetown.
Often, cemeteries come to be referred to by the name of a prominent family
and/or monument in the graveyard. With this in mind, I consulted an 1870
Census index, and found the Yennawine/Yenawine name appeared in Georgetown Township, Floyd County, Indiana. I
also consulted an 1875 map of the county, and found that an "S.
YENAWINE" appeared on the eastern outskirts of the town of Georgetown, in Georgetown
Township. Comparing
the location to a present-day atlas, it appears that YENAWINE household east of
Georgetown, on
the south side of SR 64. There were also other YENAWINEs in the vicinity,
along the area of 64 east of Georgetown.
I would guess that a cemetery called by that name would most likely be in that
area of Georgetown
Township.
Greenville
Township communities include: Galena, Greenville
and Navilleton.
Lafayette
