With its rocky, rugged Lake Superior shoreline, forests and lakes, it is beautiful scenery, nature and wilderness which dominate Cook county.  To illustrate:  While driving the nice, modern highway 61, which runs along Lake Superior to the Grand Portage Reservation, the cars were forced to a halt by a mother bear and her two cubs.  She paid no attention whatsoever to the scant trappings of modern civilization as she crossed the highway with her family. ;-)
