Big Stone County is located in west central Minnesota, with the state of North Dakota at it's western boundary.  Neighboring Minnesota counties include:  Traverse county to the north; Stevens and Swift counties to the east; Lac Qui Parle county to the south; and the North Dakota
counties of Grant and Roberts to the west.
