January 1, 2005:  "The new Metropolitan Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston will have six Suffragan Dioceses:  Austin, Tyler, Beaumont, Victoria, Corpus Christi and Brownsville.  The Metropolitan Archdiocese of San Antonio will retain seven Suffragan Dioceses: Dallas, Fort Worth, Amarillo, Lubbock, San Angelo, Laredo and El Paso."
